About Me
Welcome!! I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself and tell you a bit about myself and my art journey. I'm Robert S. Weinblatt and I am an American contemporary impressionist landscape painter. I was educated in NYC where I studied Fine Art and received a BFA from Queens College. I went on to do everything but art, or so it seemed.
I spent a pretty long period of time working in the fashion industry doing editorial hair and make up on a celebrity level. After a pretty long and healthy career I felt my heart calling me back to art and more specifically, painting. I decided then that art was where my heart ached to be so I chose to move forward with my dreams.
I packed up my previous life and moved to New Mexico, THE LAND OF ENCHANTMENT, where the light and the vistas are like nowhere else in the world. I found home! After many apprenticeships and workshops with some of my art idols, I decided my wings were ready for me to try flying and that I did.
I paint (in pastel) with emotional reactions to what I see, and I translate those feelings into design and color. I'm primarily a gallery artist, but I enjoy competition work as well. When I paint, I want the viewer to see the image from my vantage point , to see my reaction to the landscape. I endeavor to help viewers understand what draws me to a particular location. When viewing my work, I hope you as the observer can place yourself in my shoes for a moment - to appreciate the beauty and the joyous light that made that moment special for me, a moment I wanted to share with you. Come, take this very personal journey with me and we'll fly together!

Photo note: I was recently awarded 2nd place in the New Mexico Small Works show, a show judged by artist Richard McKinley who continues to inspire me!
